Business Situation

Foundation IT build new vSphere environment to support TeleWare’s MVNO platform. In 2011, TeleWare aimed to launch TeleWare Mobile, a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) service that offers a range of unique, high value services specifically designed for business use. 
 
Foundation IT helped TeleWare to achieve this goal by designing and implementing a virtual environment based on Dell EqualLogic SAN technology and HP ProLiant server hardware, running VMware vSphere 4.1 and Site Recovery Manager. This new infrastructure was designed to work across two datacentres to provide the required resilience.
 
Foundation IT worked closely with TeleWare throughout the lifecycle of this project to ensure that technical staff fully understood the environment and the requirements for failover and administration. Working to extremely tight timescales, the project was successfully delivered on schedule, and on budget. TeleWare’s MVNO platform is now live and providing the service to their customers as required.
 
TeleWare Mobile is the first mobile network to deliver true convergence of fixed and mobile networks with a seamless core for both Fixed and Mobile calls and data.  Initially, the TeleWare Mobile platform is being used to enable businesses within the financial services sector to record mobile phone calls and audit text messages in order to meet FSA compliance requirements following the introduction of stricter regulations from 14th November 2011.

The right partner - why Foundation IT? 
Foundation IT spent a number of months working with TeleWare to consider a scalable and highly resilient infrastructure that would deal with tens of thousands of mobile users. Our design combined vSphere Enterprise Plus, vCenter Site Recovery Manager, vCenter Standard, Cisco networking hardware, HP ProLiant Servers, and Dell EqualLogic Storage. TeleWare now has a dual-site (active-passive) environment and is able to offer a solution to all FSA regulated businesses that have a deadline of November 2011 to be compliant with call recording of all business calls made from mobiles enabled with a TeleWare Mobile SIM card. Foundation IT worked to tight timescales to ensure that the project was successful and supplied on time.
